How to get bookings from Instagram: bio link, stories and DMs that end in an appointment

Published · 5 min read

Most providers post good work on Instagram and still book by DM ping-pong: “Do you have Thursday?” — “No, Friday 3?” — silence. The fix is not more followers. It is a link that takes someone from a story to a confirmed appointment in under a minute, and a habit of pointing at it. Here is the setup that works for solo providers.

The bio: one link, and what to write above it

Your bio has four lines; use them for what a stranger needs to decide: what you do, where, for whom, and how to book. “Balayage & colour · Budapest VII · book online ↓”. Then the link: your booking page, not a link-in-bio tool with six buttons. Every extra tap loses a third of the people who started.

Stories: a rhythm you can keep for a year

Twice a week, three frames: a result from this week, a look at the room or your hands at work, and a “free this week: Thu 14:00, Fri 10:00 — book below” frame with the link sticker. That last frame is the one that books. Save it to a “Book” highlight so it stays at the top of your profile between stories.

DMs: the two-line reply

“How much is a cut?” — “Cut & blow-dry is €35, about 45 minutes. You can pick a time here: [link]”. Price, duration, link. No “when would suit you?” — that question starts the ping-pong. If they reply with a day, send the link again with “Thursday is open from 13:00”. The booking page does the negotiating.

Posts: fewer, with the price in the caption

A weekly post is plenty. Before/after, the service name, the duration, the price, and “book via the link in bio”. Captions with a price get fewer likes and more bookings — you are filtering for people who are ready, which is the point.

What the link should land on

The page behind the link has to load fast on a phone, show your services with prices, and let someone pick a time in a few taps without creating an account. That is exactly what a TapBook booking page is: your services, your free slots, a confirmation e-mail — and the QR code and share link ready on the Share page.

Who this is for

Anyone whose work photographs well and whose clients scroll: hair, nails, lashes, tattoo, makeup, personal training, dog grooming. Tutors and consultants get less from Instagram; for them the link in the e-mail signature and Google matter more.

What this won’t fix

Instagram brings people who already like your work; it doesn’t create demand where there is none, and its reach swings with the algorithm week to week. Treat it as one of three doors (with Google and word of mouth), not the whole house. TapBook gives you the link and the QR code; the posting is still yours.

A booking link worth the bio.
